The 4-1 Belaire Bengals travelled to Istrouma High School to play the 2-2 Indians this week. It was Istrouma’s homecoming week, and the Bengals wanted to play spoiler, and they showed out.

Denichlass Jeter started off the game with an interception return touchdown on first drive, and then another interception the next drive. Belaire fumbled on the ensuing drive, and then proceeded to force a turnover on downs. Each team punted a couple times, and then Istrouma started driving after a 40 yard completion with a few minutes left in the half, but with a 4 and out, Belaire got the ball back, and ran the clock down to halftime up 7-0.

Istrouma recovered their kickoff, then threw an interception to Noah James. A big run by Makih Palmer made the score 14-0, for his 5th touchdown in 3 games. Lacoreyan Compton got another interception, the fourth for Belaire on the day, and the Bengals followed it up with a field goal. First play with the ball back, De’Antwan Brown broke off a touchdown run, and quickly the game was 17-8 after a 2 point conversion. A fumble on the following Belaire drive gave Istrouma the ball, but went three and out again and Belaire blocked their punt, and ran the clock down to 4 minutes, which was not enough time for the Indians to score again

Next Game: vs. St. Michael High School at Belaire High School at 7pm on Friday, October 22nd.
