Louisiana and the Gulf Coast has had a streak of bad luck when it comes to weather, as Tropical Storm Nicholas made landfall within 2 weeks of Hurricane Ida devastating Southeast Louisiana. Fortunately, the storm is seeming to have no effect on East Baton Rouge Parish Football, so we will get a great upcoming matchup this week between Belaire High School (Baton Rouge, LA) and Central High School (Central, LA).

Both Belaire and Central are coming off wins, with Belaire beating Northeast High and Central beating Tara High last week. Belaire is looking to get its first win against a Division 5A school, which they are going to have a great opportunity to come Friday at 7pm. I sat down with Belaire Head Coach Byron Wade to talk about this game and more on Coaches Corner, a Gridiron Football App exclusive weekly show.

Weekly Standout: Senior DL Christian Tolliver had a big game against Northeast last week, consistently applying pressure to their quarterback and helping ensure they were limited in the passing game. He had a huge sack to keep Northeast from scoring in the second half, and got pressure that lead to an interception.

Next Game: vs. Central High School at Central High School in Central, LA, Friday at 7pm.
