Diamond In The Rough: Erron Bean

Erron Bean is class of 2021 offensive tackle out of Huntington High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bean is 6’5″ and weighs 255 pounds. At his size, Bean’s athleticism is excellent. On the field, he is solid against the pass rush and has the ability to keep defenders in front of him. He is great at blocking and can easily drive defenders off the ball. He is also on the basketball and track & field teams at Huntington. He holds a 4.1 gpa and has been First-Team Offense All North of Louisiana.

When did you begin playing football and what made you want to play?

I started playing football in 2012. My cousin Jordan was who made me want to play.

What are some hobbies you have?

I play video games. I also just help grandfather whenever he needs help with anything. My mom is kind of sick right now so I’ve been putting a lot of my time towards helping her.

What’s your favorite thing about being a left tackle?

I love protecting the quarterback’s blindside to make sure he doesn’t get hit, and keeping everyone away from him. I give him time to throw the ball and make plays.

Do you have any specific goals for this season?

This season, I would like to help my team get to the state championship and win it! We’ve been talking about this since my freshman year, and we’re just trying to go out there and get it.

How do you think your coaches and teammates would describe you?

Coaches and teammates would describe me as a leader on and off the field.

What would you say has been the highlight of your football career?

I would say my junior year. The first game playing defense, I had 5 sacks and 3 tackles.

What has football taught you about life?

Football has taught me that it can end in any moment, so give it your all like it’s your last time.

What’s your favorite thing about playing football in Louisiana?

The weather. It’s unpredictable

Caring, athletic, hard-working.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I see myself preparing for the NFL draft.

I see that you have a 4.1 GPA, how do you balance school work in football?

With virtual school, it’s kind of hard as all of the assignments are on there. I just go ahead and do all of them at one time and then head to practice and worry about football.

How do you prepare for an upcoming game?

I watch a lot of film before the game while I listen to my music. Whatever comes to my playlist, I play it.

Have you thought about what you would want to study in college?

I’m choosing between mechanical engineering or business!
