Garret Russo is a 5’11 215lbs linebacker from Teurlings Catholic High School. Last season Teurlings finished with a 7-5 record. Garret has good strength and a high motor, he always seems to be around the ball.

When and why did you start playing football?

I started playing football in Middle school, I watched it growing up as a kid, wanted to be like the players on TV.

 

What College would you like to play for?

ULL, LA Tech, ULM

 

How do you feel your Junior season went?

I liked it but could improve a lot more.

 

What is one thing this offseason you want to improve on?

I think my, footwork, dropping back in coverage, reading the plays.

 

What do you look forward to the most for your Senior year? Any goals?

To be the leader on my team, work hard and try to make the playoffs.

 

Do you have any role models? Or football players that inspire you that you can compare your style of play to?

Luke Kuechly because of his intensity and ability to know where the football is at all times.

What do you love about football?

I love that it’s a team sport, the fun of the game, get to make friends and just all the action that comes with it.

 

What helps you stay successful at playing football?

I’m very coachable, watch a lot of film, staying prepared mentally before the games.

 

Any hobbies besides football?

Track and Field, I can throw the javelin and discuss.
