When did you start playing football?

I started playing around six years old.

What attracted you to the sport of football at a young age?

I remember the action was exciting. When you’re around people who love the game as much as you do, it makes football even more fun to play.

Is that what you love the most about football or has that changed over time?

Yes ma’am. I love everything about football. This is my one thing. I love playing defense. I love playing offense. I love being a part of the team – helping the team. I love winning.

Right, you love the game as a whole. I get it. Going into the upcoming season as an upperclassmen, what are you looking forward to?

Winning state championship.

Of course and we can agree that’s the goal of the team. What are some individual goals you would like to achieve?

Making all-state, trying to be a leader, and always better my game.

Yeah, I saw on your twitter profile you were All-district Wide Receiver last year. What were some contributing factors that led you to that accomplishment?

Most of the time when I caught the ball, during the season, I usually scored. Also, I made big plays for the team in every district games.

What has football taught you, as a person and as a player?

To always keep pushing; never give up.

So, let’s digress from football for a question or two. I would like for the readers and me get to know you better off the field. Who are some of your role models? Why?

There are three players I try to shape and model my playing style after. I want my work ethic to be like Cam Newton. I want my route running to be like Justin Jefferson – an upcoming receiver in the league now. I want my leadership style to be Lamar Jackson.

Yes, we love all of those guys. What would your teachers say about as a student?

They would say I am always laughing. You will rarely catch me on a bad day, unless I’m waking up or something like that. I’m also a good student.

That’s good to know. Do you have any hobbies? What do you like to do when you’re not playing football?

I like hanging out with my friends. I love putting in work whenever it’s needed or on my own. I’m a cool person; when you’re around me, you’ll always end up laughing.

Do you have a favorite kind of workout or are you more of a well-rounded person?

I’m more well-rounded, but if I had to pick one, it would be bench. Bench comes the easiest to me.

Personally, I’m more a squat gal, but I also don’t do heavyweight lifting multiple times a week. Anyways, what do you think is your biggest asset on the field?

I’d say my strongest asset would have to be passing routes.

How would you describe your playing style?

I’m always hype – when I get in the groove, nothing is going to stop me. I’m not selfish either. You know how some players always think they have to get the ball every time? Yes it’s important for you to do good individually, but you have to excel as a team with your team.

You have a lot of adrenaline and you always tackle a challenge with more than 100%. You’re giving it 120% or even higher.

Yeah. Even if I am feeling too tired to play, I’m going to push myself or one my coaches is going to push because they know I can do better.

Do you have any outstanding stats from the previous season?

I had around 380 total all-purpose yards.

What have you been doing during the coronavirus pandemic to improve your athletic ability?

I’ve been running the levee, working on my hands, and building up stamina.

Do you play any other sports besides football?

I run track.

What do you run in track?

I run the 4 x 200.

Okay, I saw the following quote on your Hudl profile: “I never give up on my team, I always go harder for them.” Break that down for me – what does it mean to you?

I learned that quote my freshman year and I would never turn my back on a brother. When they need me, I’m going to be there for them. If they need me to make a big play for them, I’m going to be there. I will always have their back.
