Diamond In The Rough: Jaymin Leblanc

Jaymin Leblanc is a class of 2021 offensive guard out of Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin, Louisiana. Leblanc is 6’0″ and weighs 265 pounds. Along with offensive guard, he can also play offensive tackle, full back, and linebacker. He is a versatile player who is an excellent run blocker. He finishes off blocks well and defensively he’s a stout run stopper.

How would you describe your season? What would you say was the highlight of your Senior year?

This season was amazing! I had an amazing time and made some great memories even though we had some ups and downs. The highlight of my Senior year had to have been scoring a touchdown in our last game.

Did you have any specific goals for this season? If so, how was the journey reaching them?

My goal was to make First Team All-District and do my best to have a winning season. Our journey was tough because of Covid-19, but we pushed through to make the best out of this year and that’s what we did!

 How did you even get into football? Is there anything or anyone specific that motivated you to keep playing?

The way I got into football was when I was little and playing Pee Wee football. I loved it then and I love it now. What motivated me to keep playing was my competitiveness towards getting and being better. My parents told me to keep going and I trusted their word and here I am.

What has football taught you about yourself or life?

Football taught me to always keep fighting and never give up! There will always be ups and downs in life, but if you keep fighting you will make it out and be successful.

What would you say are your main strengths on the field?

I say my strengths on the football field include my energy and my will to win. Another strength is my competitiveness to not let someone beat me and I will keep going until they can’t handle me.

How would your coaches and teammates describe you?

I say my teammates and coaches will call me hard working, goofy, a leader, and compassionate about this team and the game of football.

What’s your favorite thing about playing football in Louisiana?

The best thing about playing football in Louisiana is most of the teams you play are near your area, so when you’re off the field you might make some new friends.

Three words to describe yourself?

Three words to describe myself: hardworking, competitive, and strong.

What hobbies do you have outside of sports?

My hobbies outside of sports are hunting, fishing, and hanging out with my friends.

What is one thing could you not go a day without?

The one thing I couldn’t go a day without missing would be athletics. I am always playing a sport or working to get better at a sport.
