Diamond in The Rough: Oj Ross

Oj Ross is class of 2022 running back for Cocoa Highschool in Cocoa, FL. He is 5’10, weighs 182, and has a 3.5 GPA. Oj has elite field vision and change of direction. He also has the ability to consistently make people miss and get into second gear after hitting the hole. OJ does a great job of making and extending plays but what stands out the most is his ability to change directions.

How long have you been playing football? I have been playing football since I was 5 years old.

Is there a player you can compare yourself to? I feel like I play similar to Alvin Kamara.

Do you have any role models? I don’t look up to nobody I just do work as hard to be the best i can be.

Do you play any other sports? I run track.

Do you have a go to move? My go to move it a dead leg.

What Is your biggest strength? My biggest strength is making a defender miss.

What part of your game needs work? I need work in every part of my game, because I’m not perfect. 

Can you play any other positions? I can play WR.

What stands out about the way you play (speed, toughness, etc.)? My speed and my toughness I can get hit and I’m getting back up.

When you line up what goes through your head pre snap? Dominate is the only thing goes through my head.

What do you enjoy the most about playing RB? Being able to make people miss is the best part of playing RB.

Has playing football taught you any valuable lessons? Playing football taught me to always be the best u can always even in life.

What are you doing to get better? I train consistently I watch film that’s how I get better.

Do you have any goals for this season? My goals this season to be better than my last year season.

Why should any college give you a chance? I know colleges have dawgs so they can add one that want the same thing the other dawgs want.

What made you chose to play RB? I grew up playing RB this my home this my position.
