Diamond In The Rough: Owen Harmon

Owen Harmon is a class of 2022 wide receiver out of Iota High School in Iota, Louisiana. He is 6’3″ and weighs 210 pounds. Harmon is a tall and versatile receiver who can line up inside or outside. He has a deceptive speed, along with great hands. Harmon also has a good catching ability and route running skills. It is no problem for him to get downfield and block. Harmon has a 2.9 GPA.

So far this season, you already have 7 touchdowns, 20 receptions, and 372 receiving yards. It is only the middle of the season for you. How do you feel about your season so far and what other goals are you looking to accomplish?

I feel like our season is going good. At this point, I am just trying to make it to the State Championship for sure

How did you get into playing football?

When I was younger, my brothers and my dad played in college. Watching them play made me want to follow in their footsteps.

What hobbies do you have outside of football?

Every once in a while, I like to go fishing with my brother sometimes just for fun. I also play video games every now and then. My favorite game to play is Call Of Duty: Warzone.

What’s your favorite thing about your position?

I love running the routes and catching the ball. I also like getting up field and scoring touchdowns for my team.

How do you think your teammates and coaches would describe you?

My teammates and coaches would say I am a hard worker!

What has football taught you about yourself?

Football has taught me that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

What’s the best thing about playing football in Louisiana?

There is a lot of good athletes that come out of Louisiana, so the competition is always great. Being able to meet them and compete against them is awesome.

Are there any college or NFL athletes that you look up to or try to model your play style after?

Definitely. I would say DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks.

Hardworker, reliable, and determined.

What is one thing you can’t go a day without?

My phone.

What are you looking for in a program?

I am looking for great academics in any program I go to.
