DITR: Ashley Williams Jr.

Ashley Williams Jr. is a class of 2023 defensive end and outside linebacker for Zachary High School in Zachary, LA. In his sophomore season, Ashley had 10 quarterback hits, 5 sacks, and 2 force fumbles. He was the D-line MVP at the NUC camp. He was named Top 5 defensive linemen at the Next Gen: The Show Camp at IMG. He has a 40 time of 4.6, a vertical jump of 31, a 5-10-5 4.18, and broad jump is 10. Ashley also has one offer from Norfolk State.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

A: I’m from Zachary, LA. I started playing at age 6. I enjoy playing football and spending time with family.

How did you start playing football?

A: I started playing soccer at age 4. I was very physical and aggressive, and my dad moved me to football, and I fell in love with it.

What keeps you motivated?

A: The desire to be the best and to reach my full potential.

What is a goal you have for this season?

A: A goal I have is to get double digit sacks and to help my team win a championship.

How would you describe your style of play?

A: Fast and determined

What is one of the biggest lessons football has taught you?

A: Discipline and to overcome adversity.

What is your mindset before a game?

A: To prepare myself and do whatever it takes to win as well as to provide leadership for my team.

What sets you apart from competition?

A: My work ethic and desire to be the best is what separates me from others.

A: To let them know I never give up and everything I start, I finish.
