Damondrick Blackburn Class of 2023 Running Back

Damondrick Blackburn is Class of 2023 running back at Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, Louisiana. Standing at 6’0 210 pounds, Blackburn is a big back that possesses the speed and agility to run away from defenders and make them miss but does not shy away from contact. Blackburn also possesses pass catching skills out of the backfield and looks very comfortable catching the football and running routes. He runs a 4.55 40-yard dash and a 33-inch vertical, to go along with a 10.1 100-meter dash time. Blackburn is also a beast in the weight room with a 300-lb bench press, 405-lb squat, and a 235-lb clean.

How long have you been playing football and What do you love about football?

D: I’ve been playing football for 4 years and I love the contact part of football getting to run people over and score touchdowns. 

What has football taught you about yourself?

D: Football has taught me how to be tough mentally and physically. 

Who are your biggest motivators?

D: My brother and my mom are my biggest motivation. 

Do you play any other sports? 

D: I play basketball and run track. 

What is your biggest strength on the football field?

D: My size is my biggest strength being able to bounce off of smaller defenders. 

What part of your game do you want to improve on in your senior year?

D: This season I want to improve my football IQ, being that I’ve only been playing for 4 years I’m still learning and improving every day. 

What should college coaches know about you?

D: I want them to know that I’m willing to sacrifice anything to win and that I have very strong work ethic. 

What are some of your goals, when it comes to your overall football career? 

D: My goal is to reach the next level and then compete at a high level to further my career professionally. 

Is there any player college or professional that you model your game after?

D: Leonard Fournette. 

What are some of your goals this season team wise and personally? 

D: Personally, my goal is to reach 2000 rushing yards and my goal as a teammate is for us to win a district championship and to build more chemistry with my teammates.
