Grant Ducote is a Class of 2023 running back out of Rosepine High School in Rosepine, Louisiana. Grant is 5’10” and 205lbs and had over 1000 yards on 119 carries in his sophomore season. In his freshman season, Grant had over 1,500 yards. He has great vision and has the ability to find gaps and hit them at full speed. His breakaway speed and ability to break tackles lead him to back-to-back 1st team All-Vernon Parish selections and a 1st team All-Southwest Louisiana selection. With that, in the classroom, he is a stellar student with a 3.9 GPA. Grant has the ability to play at the next level as a power back. When he lowers his shoulders, he is hard to bring down.

How long have you been playing football?

Grant: I’ve been playing since I was 4, so 12 years. I started playing flag football, and then I started playing tackle at 7.

How would you describe your role on the team, and how would your teammates describe you?

G: Off the field, I am always there for my guys. I’m a good teammate. They would describe me as a role model. I’m generally pretty quiet but I always make sure I’m a good role model.

What would you say is your biggest strength?

G: My biggest strength is my vision in the backfield, in our offense I have to find where I am going since running lanes don’t always open up.

What do you need to improve on the most to make sure you’re successful at the next level?

G: My speed is probably the thing I need to improve the most.

What are you going to bring to the college team that recruits you?

G: I’m a hard worker, and I will always do the right thing. Whether it is on or off the field, I will always do the right thing.

Who would you compare yourself to, in college or the NFL?

G: Christian McCaffery is my best comparison. The way he hits his holes and makes cuts matches my game, and his ability to catch passes out of the backfield.

What is your goal for this season with Rosepine?

G: Our goal is to win Districts, and I have a personal goal to make All-Louisiana honors this year.
