Payten Roberts is a 5’8, 165 pound running back and outside line backer for Delta Charter in Ferriday, Louisiana. This season, Peyton has 112 carries for 820 rushing yards and averages 7.3 yards a carry. He has 7 receptions for 54 receiving yards averaging 7.7 yards. Defensively he has 36 solo tackles, 34 assists for 70 total tackles. Payten also has a heap of awards he received from football and baseball. His awards for football include Outstanding offensive skill, Outstanding defensive skill, Coaches Award, All Parish, and 2 time All-District. For baseball his awards include Defensive Player of the Year 2020, and All Parish 2020. He was also awarded the Heisman High School Scholarship. He is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I’m from Ferriday, LA. I like to train and workout on my off time. I also like to be in the woods hunting and fishing.
How did you start playing football?
I started at a very early age through a peewee in Vidalia, LA since 2nd grade all the way through high school.
What keeps you motivated?
The people around me. My family. I have the responsibility to train and make it. To prove to others, I can be a great athlete.
How do you prepare for a game?
I wake up at 6, Head to school for a 7 breakfast, go to school, go back home to eat. Make sure I have everything and get ready for the game.
What is an important lesson that you have learned from football?
Knowing you have to work together. It’s a big part of life.
What are some of your greatest strengths?
My heart and my drive to accomplish things. My self-motivation, I don’t like to lose.
What do you think sets you apart from other players?
I don’t think there’s anyone who can outhustle me. I never give up. My opponent may be bigger, faster, stronger, but I won’t give up.
