High School Football Recruiting: Evangel Christian Academy

Josh Sibley played football for approximately thirteen years. He is now a scout with Louisiana Gridiron Football and is currently scouting high school level talent throughout Louisiana. He hopes to help recruits reach their full potential and get to that next level of play.

Evangel Christian Academy is located in Shreveport, LA. Last season they finished with a District record of 6-0 and an overall record of 8-2.

Height: 5.10

Weight: 190

4 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Downhill runner
  • Good vision

Negatives

  • Needs bulk
  • Tendency to lean forward before the snap of ball

Overall

Tamauge is a versatile runner with a fast first step and good vision. He runs behind his pads and will run through would-be tacklers. He does have a nasty habit of leaning forward before the ball is snapped though, but this can be corrected with work in the off-season. Could be a DI or DII prospect. Height: 6.02

Weight: 285

4 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Good size
  • Good strength

Negatives

  • Could use some work on pass blocking

Overall

  • Cameron has good size and strength, and uses it to finish his blocks. He has surprising speed and normally delivers a crushing block to edge rushers when pulling to get out in space. He is a better run blocker than pass blocker, and should look to work on his pass blocking skills in the off-season. Could be a DI or DII prospect. Height: 6.01

Weight: 240

4 Star Recruit (Borderline 5 Star)

Positives

  • Fast first step
  • Sure tackler

Negatives

  • Needs bulk

Overall

Elijah has a fast first step and uses it well, he can split double teams and had tackles for loss. He is a sure tackler with a high motor. However, he is a bit undersized to play defensive tackle at the next level. He could make a career as a 4-3 Defensive End or 3-4 Outside Linebacker. Could be a DI or DII prospect. 2 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Good size

Negatives

  • Inconsistent blocker

Overall

  • Christian has good size and decent strength, however he is inconsistent at times and struggles to get to the next level in run blocking. His run blocking is better than his passing blocking, and he can work to improve on that in the off-season. Could be a DII or DIII prospect.
